In Feridhoo, the reef has just welcomed 819 coral colonies carefully cultivated in rope nurseries. Each coral was transplanted onto the natural reef with precision, while additional young colonies from the same nursery were placed on metal spiders, giving them a stable foundation to grow.

This important outplanting was carried out by Coralive as part of their 2025 cycle, directly supporting the PhD research of Antonio Beggiato on acoustic enrichment of coral reefs. The project also involved a creative collaboration with artist Marco Barotti and his Coral Sonic Resilience initiative, blending science and art to highlight the resilience of these ecosystems.

With this milestone complete, Feridhoo is now preparing for the 2026 cycle. A new nursery is being established, and over the coming year we will dedicate our care and attention to nurturing the next generation of corals—continuing our shared commitment to restoring and strengthening the reef for the future.

Stay tuned for new update!
