April 2026 the reef’s chemistry!
In April 2026 the reef revealed its heartbeat through three vital signs: pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature . Taken together, the five graphs show both the calm of daily averages and the hidden rhythms of two‑hour cycles. On the daily scale, temperature hovered close to 30°C with only small fluctuations , pH edged gently upward from just under 8.0 to a little above, and dissolved oxygen showed a subtle decline. These broad trends suggest stability, but also a quiet shift:

Data March 2026 - Light, Oxygen, pH and Temperatures
In March 2026, the environmental parameters we measured—light, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH—show a tightly interconnected story of how physical and biological processes shape marine ecosystems. Light intensity ranged between about 28,400 and 30,200 Lux, with a mean near 29,300 Lux. Its daily cycles reflect the alternation of day and night, with peaks driven by solar radiation and troughs influenced by cloud cover. This rhythm is the primary driver of photosynthesis,

CORALIVE Feridhoo Coral Restoration Project – Phase Two
Advancing reef recovery through coral nurseries and outplanting in the Maldives. The Feridhoo Coral Restoration Project – Phase Two report, prepared by Coralive, shares how coral nurseries are helping bring new life to the reefs of the Maldives. It tells the story of thousands of coral fragments grown, cared for, and then outplanted to degraded reef areas around Feridhoo. More than numbers, it’s a glimpse of hope — showing how science, community, and creativity can work toget

Coral Sonic Resilience part 2:
Sound of Silence Coral Restoration Feridhoo: Innovation and Community for a Resilient Reef This project began with a first trial in February 2024 , when we tested acoustic enrichment on a small scale. After that initial experiment, the project is now fully set up and ready to move forward as part of the PhD research of Antonio Beggiato , under the supervision of Professor Marco Patruno at the University of Padua. Coral reef restoration is often seen as a process of “rebuildi

Welcome to the 2026 Coral Nursery!
In Feridhoo, the reef has just welcomed 819 coral colonies carefully cultivated in rope nurseries. Each coral was transplanted onto the natural reef with precision, while additional young colonies from the same nursery were placed on metal spiders, giving them a stable foundation to grow. This important outplanting was carried out by Coralive as part of their 2025 cycle, directly supporting the PhD research of Antonio Beggiato on acoustic enrichment of coral reefs. The projec

pH, %DO and Temperatures February 2026
🌡️The weekly pH graph, shows a clear inverse relationship between temperature and pH. Temperature exhibits moderate daily variability, with a peak around 04/02, while pH declines progressively toward the same period before stabilizing and slightly recovering. 🪸This pattern is consistent with carbonate chemistry dynamics in tropical reef systems. Increasing temperature reduces CO₂ solubility and can enhance biological respiration rates, shifting the carbonate equilibrium and

pH, %DO and Temperatures January 2026
Environmental conditions at the beginning of the year! The data show relatively stable environmental conditions over the monitoring period, with small but meaningful short-term variations. pH and temperature: pH exhibits a gradual decreasing trend from 8.06 to 8.00, remaining well within the normal range for healthy tropical reef systems. This slight decline is likely linked to increasing temperature and daily biological processes such as respiration and reduced nighttime pho

pH, %DO and temperatures of December 2025
New Updates of pH, DO and Temperatures!📉🐠 In December, dissolved oxygen -DO- concentrations ranged from 7.1 to 7.7 mg/L, with a mean of ~7.45 mg/L. Water temperature varied between 28.3 and 28.8 °C (mean ~28.5 °C). A decrease in DO was observed towards the end of the monitoring period, coinciding with higher water temperatures. Instead, pH values ranged from 7.99 to 8.04, with a mean of ~8.01. Water temperature remained relatively stable, varying between 28.4 and 28.7 °C (m

Dissolved Oxygen and pH - November 2025
During the first week of November 2025, we deployed and placed for a week the pH and Dissolved Oxygen. About the pH what we can see is that from Nov 1–8, both pH and temperature showed a steady decline: pH dropped from 8.08 to 8.02, while temperature cooled from 28.8 °C to 28.3 °C. Both Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and temperature showed a consistent downward trend. DO concentrations decreased from approximately 7.8 to 7.0 mg/L, while water temperature declined from around 28.8 °C t

October Temperatures and Light levels!
Here we go with new a graph! Temperature Trend (Blue Line) The daily mean temperature starts around 30.4°C at the beginning of October with a gradual decrease through the first half of the month, stabilizing around 29°C after mid-October. Toward the end of October, temperature shows a slight recovery but remains below early-month values. The lowest temprature registred is on the 22nd with 28,2°C . Overall, the temperature variation is moderate, fluctuating within about 2°C
